ImageUniversité Paris I Panthéon- Sorbonne was created in 1970, replacing the former Université de Paris, originally founded in the 12th Century, and formally constituted by Papal Bull in 1215, briefly suppressed by the French Revolution between 1793 and 1808, and reconstituted in 1890.
