We are very much looking forward to our Policy Conference in Brussels from 13 to 15 October and hope to be able to welcome some of you there. The conference celebrates the work of our fourth cohort of scholars, who will present their policy ideas.
The projects this year focus on:
- decriminalising sex work, thereby improving the human rights and labour rights of nearly 2 million EU citizens; increasing tax revenue; and freeing up resources to tackle human trafficking (to be presented on 13 October).
- providing a framework for Member States to implement the monitoring requirements of the Pact on Asylum and Migration in ways that improve living conditions in accommodation centres with greater adherence to human rights, participatory practices, and accountability, while raising public awareness (to be presented on 13 October).
- creating an EU Media Wallet to help tackle disinformation; support good quality media; and encourage young people to engage with hews reporting (to be presented on 14 October)
- promoting community urban gardens in order to help cities tackle the climate crisis; improve community cohesion; and promote urban regeneration (to be presented on 15 October).
We will also have panels on strategic autonomy, (de)polarisation, and the think tanks’ perspective on von der Leyen 2.0. Confirmed speakers include Claude-France Arnould, Heather Grabbe, Alberto Horst Neidhardt, Sophie Pornschlegel, Andrea Renda, Jamie Shea, Erika Staël von Holstein, and Eddy Wax.
Tickets for some of the sessions are now available on eventbrite.
