Esther Katharina Zitterl is a PhD researcher in English at the University of St Andrews, fully funded by the Handsel and AD Links Scholarships. Esther holds five degrees from the University of Vienna, with an Erasmus exchange at the Sorbonne Nouvelle. A former PRO SCIENTIA Scholar (2023–2025), she co-chairs the Scottish Graduate School for Arts & Humanities Doctoral Researcher Committee. Her public engagement includes literary jury work for the Institut français and hosting an episode of the Centre for Minorities Research podcast. She works in German, English, Spanish, French, and Italian.
