On the afternoon of Tuesday 13th May (14.30 – 17.00 hours CET / 13.30 – 16.00 hours UK time), the Europaeum and Charles University will be organising a special joint event to honour the life and work of Karel Schwarzenberg, the Czech democracy campaigner and foreign minister who served as a Europaeum Trustee for many years. The sub-theme of the meeting will be the Future of Democracy in Europe today. A live audience on-site at the university in Prague will be joined by a wider participation online.
Participants can join the event either in person at Charles University in Prague or online.
The event will be chaired by Dr Andrew Graham, Chair of Trustees of the Europaeum, and Prof. PhDr. Eva Voldřichová Beránková, PhD, Vice-Rector for International Affairs, Charles University, and will be introduced by Prof. JUDr. Jan Kuklík, PhD, Charles University.
Speakers will include Prof. Barbara Tóth; Michael Žantovský; Prof. Timothy Garton Ash; doc. Dr. habil. MA PhDr. Petra Guasti, PhD; Dr Jakub Franěk; and Prof. Jacques Rupnik.
