Alix Ricau is a PhD candidate at the Friedrich Schlegel Graduate School (Freie Universität Berlin) and a member of the Cluster of Excellence “Temporal Communities” since October 2021. Her doctoral research focuses on the circulation and transmedia translations of American dime novels in Europe. This project approaches early forms of European mass culture from a multidimensional perspective, understanding literature as a fundamentally performative and intermedial phenomenon. She holds two Master’s Degrees in Art History and Comparative Literature from the Paris Nanterre University. Prior to her PhD research, she studied dance theories, worked in several museums and dance companies and wrote for art newspapers. Her academic interests also encompass subjects related to gender identity and environmental ethics.
