Marie is a DPhil student at the Medieval and Modern Languages Faculty in Oxford. Her research focuses on European Naturalism and on women writers’ portraits of tragic female characters. Before starting her DPhil, Marie studied at La Sorbonne and Bonn in French and German studies and completed a Master in Comparative Literature in the universities of Bonn and St Andrews. She is currently the DPhil representative of her faculty and passionately advocates for the well-being and academic success of her cohort.
Passionate about learning languages and discovering new cultures, Marie speaks six European languages and has always a book in her bag, just in case she might be bored.
