About the author
Jennifer García Carrizo is a former Europaeum Scholars’ alumna from Universidad Complutense de Madrid and is now also based at Universidad Rey Juan Carlos.
In this post, she briefly tells us about her recent book, Mission to Mars, currently only available in Spanish. The book was written following Jennifer’s participation in a Mars exporation simulation environment.
“My recent book, Mission to Mars, is an interdisciplinary exploration of human missions to Mars, combining science, technology, law, communication and the human experience of space exploration. It examines how such missions could realistically take place, addressing not only technical and scientific challenges, but also the broader questions of governance and international cooperation. In particular, Chapter VIII focuses on space law, highlighting the limitations of current legal frameworks and the challenges they face in the context of future planetary missions.
Participating in the Europaeum was a key experience that shaped my approach to this work. The programme encouraged an interdisciplinary mindset and gave me the confidence to engage across different fields, which has been essential both for writing this book and for taking part in initiatives such as Mars mission-related projects.”
