Content and approach
Foresight in the European Union: Key Applications, will take place on zoom, on December 1, and is open to the public. This conference looks at how strategic foresight is helping European policymakers improve our anticipation of the future, in the key policy areas of energy, and climate. The conference is co-organized by the Europaeum, KU Leuven, and the College of Europe.
Please note the amended date for this conference (December 1, only). The session on defence, originally scheduled for November 30, is deferred to Spring 2023.

This conference will bring together researchers and practitioners to explore themes related to foresight in EU policymaking on energy, security and the climate from a multidisciplinary perspective. Participants will hear from experts in their field such as Brendan Devlin (European Commision), Marius Oosthuizen (Director of Scenarios, World Energy Council) and Vadim Kononenko (European Environment Agency).
Who can register
This event is open to the public. We particularly invite master’s and doctoral students from within the Europaeum network who have interest in the application of foresight and the policy fields of energy, security and climate change.
Please note that attending this conference does not make participants eligible for the Europaeum alumni network as the process of registration is non-competitive.
