
The Europaeum is delighted to announce the appointment of Julian Gore-Booth as its new Executive Director, effective 1 June 2026.
Julian joins the Europaeum following a distinguished international career spanning education, professional membership organisations, international development and humanitarian affairs. Most recently, he served as Executive Director of the Institute of Masters of Wine, where he successfully guided the organisation through a period of strategic growth and strengthened its international reputation.
Having lived and worked across Europe, Africa, the Middle East, the Caribbean and Latin America, Julian brings extensive experience in building international networks, leading organisational transformation and fostering collaboration across cultures and disciplines. His previous roles include senior positions with the World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiologists, Leonard Cheshire Disability, the Saïd Foundation, the United Nations and the International Committee of the Red Cross. Early in his career, he was a trainee at the European Commission in Brussels, an experience that sparked a lifelong commitment to international cooperation and multilateral engagement.
