Earlier in July, the Europaeum Executive Director, Julian Gore-Booth and the Ideas Programme Director, Dr Miles Pattenden had the opportunity to meet with the Jagiellonian Vice Rector for International Relations, Prof. Jarosław Górniak and the Director of the Center of International Cooperation, dr inż. Izabela Zawiska. The visit took place alongside our Summer School on Creativity and Innovation at the Jagiellonian University from 7-9 July 2026.
They were joined by two former Europaeum Scholars from the Jagiellonian, Dr Elodie Thevenin and Dr Daniel Golebiowski and one of the two new incoming Europaeum Scholars from the Jagiellonian, PhD student in Cultural Studies, Svetlana Baranova, who was headed to the first module at University of Oxford shortly after. The first module in Oxford also welcomed Dr Golebiowski back, this time as a Teaching Fellow, to the latest group of Europaeum Scholars.
The meeting enabled discussion and demonstration of the excellent results of the shared work of the Europaeum and the Jagiellonian and provided an ideal opportunity to recognise the contributions of a highly valued member of the Europaeum and Jagiellonian academic community – Prof. Zdzisław Mach, who has been involved with Europaeum activities since the university joined our network in 2005. You can read more here.
The previous Scholars were able to share their experiences and the benefit of participating in the Scholars’ Programme with the Europaeum and its Jagiellonian colleagues.
